The challenge
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic Spain, like many other nations, was overly dependent on Asian countries (especially China) for the supply of disposable face masks and the materials to manufacture them. The consequent supply shortages led Nonwovens Ibérica S.L. to commit itself to a new line of business: the production of nonwoven meltblown, the only material suitable for the manufacturing of a safe filtering layer for FFP2 masks. The company was therefore looking for a high-performance meltblown line and a reliable partner who could guarantee a very short delivery time and an even shorter start-up time, in times of Coronavirus.
