IRIDIUM®: from North America comes an order that is already a success story.
A.Celli Nonwovens S.p.A. begins 2015 with a particularly special order that is a positive harbinger for the new year.
To further consolidate its leadership in the field of lines for winding, rewinding and packaging, palletizing and reel handling machinery for nonwovens comes this recent contract, signed in December 2014, that sets solid bases for A.Celli Nonwovens’ new business.
Specifically, it represents a new collaboration with an important industrial group that has decided to remain anonymous for the moment and A.Celli Nonwovens for the supply of a new IRIDIUM® Flexo printing system.
The IRIDIUM® technology, which made its world premiere in 2013, is developed to offer the highest quality printing onto different kinds of substrates including nonwovens, PP/PE film and tissue with a wide range of basis weights. This technology enhances the process chain, offering roll goods producers the possibility to add aesthetic benefits to their products, empowering their brands with high definition designs and images. The technology offered by A.Celli enables multi-colour printing using UV, water-based and solvent-based techniques.
The model sold, capable of printing products in formats that vary from 1600 mm to 2150 mm, is equipped with 6 colours and can attain a production speed of up to 450 m/min.

Besides the printing unit, the project also includes a product unwinding system and a “NEXUS” winder complete with in-line cutting. Both these elements represent state-of-the-art technology, with specific functions for registered printing as well as an integrated shaft handling and finished reel handling system, a dust suction system and all the engineering work for line commissioning in order to guarantee excellent quality levels. To complete the order package, structured capillary training and customer service.
And to coronate this great success, an IRIDIUM® printing system will be on demonstration at the A.Celli Nonwovens S.p.A. facilities during iT’s Tissue 2015, the event taking place in Lucca from 21 to 28 June 2015.
